The Alameda County Health Care Services Agency awarded contracts to La Clinica de La Raza, Inc. (Oakland, CA) and OnSite Dental Care Foundation (Arlington, VA) to provide specialty dental care services to persons experiencing homelessness through the Public Health Department's Healthcare for the Homeless Program. La Clinica de La Raza received an amendment to its Master Contract (No. 900116 and Procurement Contract No. 11122) for $123,653, and OnSite Dental Care Foundation was awarded a Standard Services Agreement (Procurement Contract No. 11207) for $163,896. Both contracts cover the period from November 1, 2014, to October 31, 2015. The services focus on restorative health and prosthetic dental needs, including dentures and partials, and utilize patient-centered models to increase access and timely care. These contracts fulfill requirements of the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) grant for comprehensive care to homeless populations in Alameda County. Both providers are exempt from Small, Local and/or Emerging Business (SLEB) Program requirements due to their direct service to Alameda County residents. Funding is provided by HRSA and included in the Fiscal Year 2014-15 Public Health Department budget.
