Research project funded by the National Cancer Institute to develop novel diagnostics for EBV-related lymphoma in HIV patients by studying EBV methylation patterns in plasma and saliva.
Description
This project aims to study EBV gene regulation and the relationship between the EBV epigenome and EBV and cellular transcriptome in EBV(+) lymphoma in the setting of HIV. It will characterize EBV methylation in cfDNA from plasma and saliva to develop novel diagnostics for HIV-associated lymphoma. The study involves RNA-Seq and bisulfite sequencing to investigate gene expression and methylation patterns, with the goal of creating a point-of-care multiplex PCR assay for early detection.
