Description

Under California Government Code (4216) Dig Alert members (including the County of Orange and City of Dana Point) upon receiving a DigAlert request, must locate and field mark their underground facilities within 2 working days, not including the date of notification. The members must also respond to Electronic Positive Response (+Response or EPR) which is communication from the utility member to the excavator regarding the status of a DigAlert ticket. Use of this system, allows the excavator to check the responses through the website, SMS, and apps anytime during life of the ticket. In addition, DigAlert will email the excavator at the start date and time listed on the ticket a complete status of responses. Failure to provide an EPR for each required ticket is in violation of CA Government Code 4216.
