Description
The project aims to evaluate the efficacy of an electronic health (eHealth) decision support tool (DST) called Gene PilotLX to improve informed decision making among cancer patients regarding tumor genomic profiling (TGP) and secondary hereditary risks. The study involves revising the DST based on formative work, conducting user testing, and implementing a randomized controlled trial with 232 cancer patients across four oncology sites. Primary outcomes include decision preparedness, decisional conflict, and communication with healthcare providers. Secondary outcomes include communication with family and perceptions of TGP. The study also examines the moderation effects of cultural values such as family importance, acculturation, and fatalism.
