NIH/NIMH funded research to develop and validate ecologically valid tasks measuring neural and behavioral markers of social anxiety in adolescents, involving a pilot and a reliability study.

Description

This research project funded by NIH/NIMH aims to optimize and validate a novel, ecologically-valid task to reliably assess neural and behavioral measures associated with social anxiety in the presence or absence of peers. The project involves a two-study approach: a pilot study to optimize the Natural Reading task and a second study to establish its reliability and predictive power in relation to social anxiety. Neural and behavioral measures of Error Monitoring will be collected and analyzed to test hypotheses about their predictive value for social anxiety.
