Description

This project aims to understand the mechanisms by which Ebola virus (EBOV) assembles and releases infectious particles, focusing on the role of the VP24 protein. The study will investigate nucleocytoplasmic trafficking of VP24, its role in viral genome packaging, and its interactions with cellular components such as the Wave regulatory complex (WRC). The research will elucidate how VP24's nuclear export signal (NES) sequences and interactions with importin α (IMPA) influence virus production and infectivity.
