Description
This project aims to fully characterize the extent of Bcl2 phosphorylation during HIV infection, the impact of those phosphorylation events on HIV replication kinetics, cell killing, and the effects of Venetoclax. It will also test strategies to overcome the functional consequences of phosphorylated Bcl2, enabling more HIV infected cells to die after reactivation from latency. The research focuses on understanding HIV persistence and developing strategies to enhance the effectiveness of HIV therapies.
