Description

Human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) is a β-herpesvirus infecting 44-100% of the population and remains a significant cause of morbidity and mortality in solid organ transplant (SOT) and allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplant (SCT) recipients. The project investigates the role of HCMV UL7 and UL8 genes in viral reactivation and latency, focusing on their interaction and impact on cellular signaling pathways and apoptosis in infected cells.
