Research project funded by NICHD to study the RC element's role in enhancer-promoter interactions using advanced genetic techniques, led by a graduate student at University of California-Irvine.

Description

This project aims to characterize a novel cis-regulatory sequence, the RC element, necessary and sufficient for distal enhancer activity, and to dissect its role in mediating enhancer-promoter interactions. The research involves advanced techniques such as chromosome conformation capture and superresolution microscopy to elucidate mechanisms of enhancer-promoter interactions and gene regulation during development.
