Description
Perinatal hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) is a common cause of death and disability in neonates. The project aims to understand the brain’s immune response, focusing on macrophages, which show sex differences. The research involves genetic approaches to deplete microglia or macrophages, spatial transcriptomics, and using the Four Core Genotype mouse model to investigate sex chromosome and hormonal influences. The goal is to identify new therapeutic targets for HIE.
