This project aims to explore the process of recovery among Black adults with Serious Mental Illness (SMI) and examine how professional and informal help seeking leads to recovery. It is grounded in the CHIME personal recovery framework and will use qualitative phenomenological research methods. The funding is provided by the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH).
