Description
Genetic manipulation of the pig genome through a combination of sophisticated gene editing tools and somatic cell nuclear transfer offers the opportunity to provide an unlimited source of human-compatible donor organs, cells, and tissues for transplantation. The project involves applying advanced transgenic pig production platforms to generate genetically engineered pigs with modifications such as knockout of immunogenic sugars, addition of human immune regulatory genes, and other genetic modifications to prevent rejection and thrombosis, aiming to produce organs suitable for transplantation.
