Description

The purpose of this study is to test the feasibility of developing a preclinical platform for the study of TBI-induced chronic neuroinflammation. The study will utilize PET imaging to detect and surveil inflammation, and will evaluate the efficacy of pharmacologic treatment (methylphenidate) to upregulate central noradrenergic and dopaminergic innervation. The research addresses a significant clinical problem related to secondary brain injury and TBI disabilities, with potential for rapid clinical translation.
