Description

This innovative hypothesis-driven study utilizes a health disparities research framework related to aging to examine whether contextual factors and vascular risk can help explain heterogeneity in obstructive sleep apnea and Alzheimer's disease outcomes among older Black/African-American populations. The study enrolls a heterogeneous population with neuroimaging measures of vascular burden, amyloid, tau, and nocturnal polysomnography recordings to elucidate disease mechanisms and aid future discovery of novel Alzheimer's disease prevention targets and disease-modifying treatments.
