Description

The project aims to investigate the role of nonclassical monocytes in primary graft dysfunction (PGD) and injury in other organs following lung transplant. The project has two aims: to study how host classical monocytes promote the migration and retention of donor nonclassical monocytes in other organs, and to understand the opposing roles of donor and recipient nonclassical monocytes in PGD and remote organ injury. The insights gained will help develop new strategies to improve outcomes after lung transplant surgery.
