This award funds a project to analyze biological samples from patients with various autoimmune diseases using advanced genomic and spatial transcriptomic technologies to identify new therapeutic targets and improve understanding of disease mechanisms.

Description

To better understand the molecular and cellular pathways driving autoimmune diseases, the project proposes to deeply profile biological samples from patients with rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, primary Sjögren’s syndrome, and systemic lupus erythematosus. The study will utilize advanced multi-dimensional technologies to analyze tissues and blood, aiming to identify new therapeutic targets. The project involves optimizing tissue preservation, single-cell and single-nucleus sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, and transcript imaging techniques. Data will be processed through computational pipelines and shared with the scientific community to facilitate disease deconstruction and reconstruction.
