Development of a novel diagnostic assay using hydrogel microparticles to profile platelet function in women with heavy menstrual bleeding, aiming to improve diagnosis and clinical management of platelet dysfunction.

Description

This project aims to develop a flow-based platelet function assay using hydrogel microparticles that mimic physiological conditions to better diagnose platelet dysfunctions, especially in women with heavy menstrual bleeding (HMB). HMB affects up to one-third of women, leading to significant health care costs and workday losses. The project addresses a critical gap in bleeding disorder diagnostics to improve diagnostic accuracy and clinical management for women with HMB.
