Description
This project assesses acute air pollution mortality risk for individuals with chronic respiratory diseases, focusing on high-vulnerability populations such as U.S. Veterans. Using 20 years of Veterans Health Administration data, high-resolution air pollution models, and sociodemographic data, the study aims to estimate mortality risks associated with PM2.5 and ozone exposure, identify individual and neighborhood risk factors, and evaluate the intersection of vulnerabilities. The findings will inform air quality regulations and behavioral interventions to reduce health disparities.
