Research project funded by the National Institute on Aging to investigate the impact of preeclampsia on brain small vessel disease and cognitive function in midlife women, aiming to identify markers and risk factors for dementia.
Description
This project aims to study midlife women with and without prior preeclampsia to characterize the neural basis of PE-related poorer cognitive performance, assess whether placental small vessel disease predicts cerebral small vessel disease and cognition, and explore markers of cerebral small vessel disease and cognition using a racially diverse cohort of 450 women with advanced neuroimaging and cognitive assessments.
