Description
Johnson Controls is the manufacturer and developer of the proprietary Metasys Building Automation System currently installed at Frederick County Facilities. According the attached manufacturer letter Johnson Controls and it authorized representatives are the sole sources capable of providing genuine Metasys software licenses and upgrades, factory authorized hardware, system programming, database modifications, software integrations, factory supported maintenance and technical support, warrant supported replacement parts, system expansions, and installation and commissioning services in accordance with Johnson Controls standards. Because the Metasys system utilizes proprietary hardware, software, firmware, databases, controllers, programming, licensing, and system architecture, the required services must be provided by Johnson Controls or an authorized Metasys presentative to maintain system functionality, cybersecurity, interoperability, warranty coverage, and manufacturer support. Therefore, the required Metasys specific products and services are available only from Johnson Controls or its authorized representatives.
