A phase III randomized controlled trial to test aggressive antipyretic therapy using ibuprofen and acetaminophen to reduce death and neurological complications in children with CNS malaria.

### Description

This project aims to conduct a phase III clinical trial to evaluate the efficacy of maximal dose, scheduled ibuprofen and acetaminophen as adjunctive therapies to reduce mortality and neurological morbidity in children with CNS malaria in sub-Saharan Africa. The trial will exclude children with moderate or worse acute kidney injury and pre-existing neurodisabilities or epilepsy. The primary outcome is the time to death, neurodisability, or epilepsy.
