Description

This project aims to investigate DS-specific pathophysiological mechanisms of Alzheimer's disease and identify novel biomarkers focusing on immune and NGF dysregulation at different stages of AD pathology in Down syndrome. The study uses biochemical analysis, neuropathological assessments, transcriptomics, proteomics, in vitro analyses, and a cohort of DS individuals to establish a model of the temporal relationship between immune and NGF dysregulation and AD-related neurodegenerative changes.
