NIH grant awarded to UT Southwestern Medical Center to develop and validate imaging strategies for extracellular vesicles as a nanotheranostic platform in neuroinflammation, focusing on MRI and MPI imaging in neurodegenerative disease models.

Description

This project involves developing and validating novel imaging strategies for tracking extracellular vesicles in neuroinflammation models, with potential applications in neurodegenerative diseases such as MS and ALS. The study will evaluate magnetically labeled and gadolinium-labeled extracellular vesicles derived from mesenchymal stem cells for MRI and MPI imaging and therapeutic properties in mouse models of multiple sclerosis and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
