The Administrative Core award supports the coordination and administrative oversight of ovarian cancer research projects under the SPORE program, ensuring efficient management, compliance, and facilitation of research productivity and investigator development.

Description

The HCC OvCa SPORE Administrative Core (Core A) is co-directed by SPORE PIs Ronald Buckanovich, MD, PhD and Robert Edwards, MD. Core A will provide scientific, fiscal, and general administrative oversight to all SPORE components, facilitate research productivity of the three SPORE Projects, expand the utility and efficiency of the SPORE’s two Shared Resource Cores, and ensure the success of the Career Enhancement Program (CEP) and Developmental Research Program (DRP) to generate a pipeline of new OvCa investigators and projects. Core A will coordinate sharing of SPORE data, internal and external communications, agreements with collaborating institutions, and community outreach with patient advocates. It will convene monthly meetings, coordinate reviews, release and publicize RFAs, arrange review of CEP and DRP applications, and work closely with the NCI Translational Research Program Office. Core A provides the administrative framework for evaluation and resource redirection to maximize progress toward translational goals, monitors budgets to avoid duplication, and ensures compliance with regulations including patient safety and data protection. The Core benefits from a qualified SPORE Administrator assisting in scheduling and report preparation.
