Research project funded by NIGMS to study neural and behavioral biomarkers in OCD using fMRI to improve understanding and treatment of compulsions.
Description
This project aims to investigate the neural and behavioral biomarkers related to effortful neutralization of threat (ENT) in OCD using a novel fMRI paradigm, the Tap-To-Safety (TTS) task, which elicits repetitive, effortful, threat-neutralizing behavior. The study will compare 35 individuals with OCD to 35 healthy controls to identify OCD-specific neural and behavioral patterns to inform future treatment development and outcome prediction.
