Research project studying the impact of night shift work on pregnant healthcare workers' pregnancy outcomes and cardiometabolic health, aiming to inform workplace policies.
Description
This project aims to identify social-economic predictors of night shift work during pregnancy, assess its impact on adverse pregnancy outcomes, and explore barriers and facilitators for requesting night shift work accommodations among pregnant healthcare workers. The research will leverage data from the Nurses’ Health Study II and qualitative evaluations at three US hospitals to study the role of night shift work and sleep on women’s perinatal and long-term cardiometabolic health.
