The project studies how cortical astrocytes influence task performance and neuronal population coding across different arousal states in marmosets, aiming to understand the cellular mechanisms affecting behavior and cognition.

Description

This project will investigate the role of cortical astrocytes in modulating task performance and population coding across arousal states in marmosets trained to perform auditory discrimination tasks. Understanding the glial and population-level mechanisms underlying arousal’s effects on task performance will provide neuroscientists with new perspectives on the critical cell types that modulate neural activity and affect behavior and cognition.
