Description
This NIH-funded research project aims to identify ion transporters that remove acid produced by mineral formation to drive synthesis of dense bone, studying their role in bone formation and the effects of their dysfunction. The project uses membrane transport analysis, live cell imaging, and surface plasmon resonance to investigate acid transport regulation in osteoblasts and mineral deposition on collagen.
