Description

This project investigates the role of PROX1, a transcriptional co-repressor, in modulating transcriptional and epigenetic programs that influence phenotypic plasticity in colorectal cancer metastasis. The research aims to understand how non-genetic phenotypic plasticity contributes to metastasis, focusing on PROX1's role in epigenetic regulation via the NuRD complex. The study explores how PROX1 constrains intestinal lineage identity through repressive epigenetic mechanisms involving the NuRD complex, and how its dysregulation promotes non-canonical lineage expression during metastasis. Using matched organoid models and mouse xenograft assays, the project aims to elucidate PROX1's epigenetic mechanisms and identify potential therapeutic targets.
