The award funds research to understand antibiotic allergy mechanisms by expanding a drug allergy research network and biorepository, focusing on phenotypes, endotypes, and delivery route impacts.

Description

This project aims to expand a drug allergy research network into a multi-site data and biorepository to advance knowledge of phenotypes, endotypes, and mechanisms of antibiotic allergy. It focuses on describing the phenotypes and endotypes of immediate-onset allergic reactions to antibiotics and defining how delivery route impacts antibiotic anaphylaxis. The research leverages the existing United States Drug Allergy Registry (USDAR) Consortium and applies clinical epidemiology and translational immunology methods.
