Description
This prospective longitudinal study will recruit a clinically diverse psychiatric outpatient sample of 160 early adolescent youth and 80 healthy comparison youth without a history of psychopathology (ages 10-13; 50% female). The study aims to test neurophysiological alterations in social acceptance processing and self-referential processing as predictors of personality impairment over two years. Findings will guide the development of preventative efforts to mitigate the personal and societal burden associated with personality impairment within this sensitive developmental period.
