This award funds research to investigate how inherited and lifestyle risk factors affect clonal hematopoiesis and its link to age-related diseases like cardiovascular disease and Alzheimer's disease, using extensive biobank and longitudinal data.

Description

Clonal hematopoiesis (CH) is associated with age-related diseases such as cardiovascular disease (CVD) and Alzheimer's disease (AD). This project aims to understand how inherited and lifestyle risk factors influence CH evolution and its connection to these diseases. The study leverages large-scale biobank data, longitudinal profiling, and cohorts with over 30 years of follow-up, including the UK Biobank, the Health Professionals Follow-up Study, and the Knight Alzheimer's Disease Research Center.
