Description

The proposed research focuses on defining the sites (peripheral vascular, mitochondrial, and neuromuscular systems) and underlying mechanisms (elevated ROS) contributing to exercise intolerance induced by stage I-III breast cancer and cytotoxic and endocrine therapies. The results aim to provide fundamental information for developing targeted therapies to mitigate systemic effects of breast cancer and therapies, preserving quality of life, particularly for women Veterans. The research aligns with VA health priorities and cancer strategies.
