Description
This study will determine if the elderly die from flu because of genetic changes in their lifetime, how other immune cells respond to acetylcholine, and if an already approved drug that targets the breakdown of acetylcholine can treat flu infections. The project focuses on the role of acetylcholine produced by T cells during Influenza A Virus infection and its impact on survival and recovery, particularly in aged mice.
