Development of a graphene-based biosensor for rapid detection of Bb protease to diagnose Lyme Disease using covalent probes in patient samples.
Description
This project aims to develop a highly sensitive biosensor to detect active Borrelia burgdorferi infections, the bacteria responsible for Lyme Disease. The biosensor will target the Bb protease, high temperature requirement A (BbHtrA), as a biomarker. The sensor will utilize covalent probes attached to epitaxial graphene to detect the bacteria in blood, urine, and synovial fluid samples.
