Description

The proposed research aims to develop new spectroscopic methods to study protein structure and dynamics in complex environments. It focuses on using 2D IR spectroscopy to measure vibrational couplings in proteins, particularly the Alzheimer’s β-amyloid protein, to understand aggregation pathways relevant to Alzheimer’s disease. Additionally, it investigates how nanoparticles affect protein structure, examining effects of metallic and silica NPs on model peptides and lysozyme. Machine learning approaches will enhance spectral sensitivity and resolution.
