Award for research on engineered Treg-like cells as a therapy for pediatric Crohn's disease, using organoid and humanized mouse models to improve disease outcomes.
Description
This project aims to test the efficacy of engineered Treg-like cells (CD4LVFOXP3) as a therapeutic for pediatric Crohn's disease. The study will utilize two models: 1) an organoid culture system derived from ileum tissues of pediatric CD patients, and 2) a humanized mouse model of colitis induced by TNBS. The goal is to promote tissue repair, regeneration, and immune suppression to improve disease outcomes.
