Description

This NIH grant supports research to determine the mechanism of how obesity and other risk factors alter the uterine endometrial microenvironment to promote conditions favorable for endometrial hyperplasia development and progression. The project uses genetically engineered mouse models, high-fat diet-induced obesity models, histopathological assessments, adoptive bone marrow transfers, and ‘omics’ approaches to understand hyperplasia development and progression, aiming to identify early biomarkers for risk prediction and prevention strategies.
