The award funds a project to develop advanced analytical methods and software to resolve conflicting results from randomized clinical trials in perinatal health, improving clinical decision-making and patient outcomes.

Description

This project aims to develop novel causal inference and machine learning methods, along with user-friendly software, to reconcile conflicting randomized controlled trial results with near-identical protocols, focusing on perinatal health and trials of 17-alpha-hydroxyprogesterone caproate for preventing recurrent spontaneous preterm birth. The project will develop methods to evaluate the impact of implementation differences, unmeasured drivers of heterogeneity, and non-adherence on conflicting results, applying these to reconcile results from several randomized trial pairs.
