A VA-funded project investigating relaxin's role in reducing adipose tissue fibrosis and developing nanoparticle therapies to treat metabolic disorders related to obesity and fibrosis.
Description
This project aims to elucidate the mechanisms by which relaxin affects adipose tissue fibrosis, its secretome, and interorgan signaling, and to develop targeted nanoparticles for therapy. The research objectives include identifying mechanisms for relaxin’s antifibrotic effects in adipose tissue, determining relaxin pathway effects on adipose secretome and liver signaling, and developing relaxin receptor-targeting nanoparticles for adipose fibrosis treatment.
