Development of an AI-based tool to detect bone age anomalies in X-rays to improve diagnosis of childhood growth disorders and discover novel genetic causes.

Description

The project aims to develop a novel artificial intelligence-based bone age anomaly detector (BAAD) to standardize screening and detection of bone age anomalies in left hand X-rays, and to identify novel genetic causes of growth disorders based on shared rare and unique bone age anomalies in unrelated patients. The approach involves improving BAAD with self-supervised deep learning methods, characterizing all bone age anomalies, and linking anomalies to diagnoses.
