Description
This project aims to elucidate the cellular and molecular mechanisms of gastrointestinal (GI) mechanosensitivity, focusing on a population of mechanosensitive enteroendocrine cells expressing Piezo2 ion channels. The research will investigate how these cells respond to mechanical forces and luminal digestive metabolites, and how they regulate GI motility, with the goal of identifying novel diagnostic and therapeutic targets.
