This NIH grant supports research on the molecular and developmental mechanisms of reproductive tract organ development and sex differentiation, focusing on uterus formation and elimination of female reproductive tissues during male differentiation.

Description

The proposed studies will provide basic knowledge of the molecular, cellular, and developmental mechanisms of uterus formation and the gene expression mechanisms that mediate the hormone pathway for the elimination of female reproductive tract organ progenitor tissues during male differentiation. These studies should provide new insights into the causes of uterine variation and sex development.
