Description
This project aims to identify distinct subtypes of brainstem parasympathetic neurons, define the neural circuits controlling their activity, and determine how they regulate heart rate and reflexes. By providing the first molecular and functional atlas of these neurons and their inputs, this research will reveal new cellular and molecular targets for restoring healthy heart rhythm and improving outcomes in patients with cardiovascular disease.
