Description

The project aims to develop and validate the use of human normal tissue patient-derived organoids (NT-PDOs) from healthy normal small intestine biopsies for pre-screening new candidate gastrointestinal (GI) radiation countermeasures, assessing the significance of age and sex in a high-throughput multi-well format. It addresses the lack of FDA-approved medical countermeasures for GI acute radiation syndrome (ARS) and seeks to improve personalized approaches while reducing reliance on animal models.
