Description

This project aims to elucidate the molecular signatures of mature oligodendrocyte subtypes in the hippocampus at single-cell and spatial resolution during memory consolidation, and investigate the functional consequences of manipulating gene expression in these cells on hippocampal memory. The research uses single-cell multiomics, high-plex in situ approaches, and in vivo gene manipulation strategies, including fiber-photometry to study calcium and glucose dynamics during spatial learning. Outcomes will advance understanding of oligodendrocyte heterogeneity and their role in memory, providing insights for therapeutic interventions in neurodevelopmental, neuropsychiatric, and neurodegenerative disorders.
