Description
This pilot clinical trial will evaluate the potential of oleoylethanolamide (OEA), a naturally occurring endocannabinoid-like lipid, to modulate neural, immune, and microbiome systems and reduce alcohol use behaviors in young adults with Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD). The study uses a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled design to assess the effects of six weeks of OEA supplementation on peripheral inflammation, oral microbiome composition, neurocognitive function, and alcohol use outcomes in young adults aged 18-25 with AUD.
