Description

The project aims to develop a novel MRI contrast agent, NEMO particles, that respond to endosomal pH to generate contrast only inside breast cancer cells, providing a binary readout of benign or malignant. The project will evaluate the contrast in 3D microfluidic tumor models and in mice, assessing toxicity, specificity, and safety. The research will include creating a portable apparatus for MRI of microfluidic tumor models and training undergraduates in nanomaterials and medical imaging.
