Description

This project aims to elucidate the early changes in calcium signaling in response to high fat diet, which may precipitate maladaptations in hormonal regulation of hepatic metabolism resulting in liver disease, diabetes, and related comorbidities. It investigates molecular mechanisms by which high fat diet suppresses calcium signaling, zonal differences in calcium signaling affected by diet, and how these changes promote lipogenesis and metabolic dysregulation in the liver.
