Award to Brigham and Women's Hospital for the Leadership Administrative Core of the Boston Older Americans Independence Center, supporting translational research in aging and coordinating OAIC activities.
Description
This competing continuation of The Boston Older Americans Independence Center (Boston OAIC) builds upon a highly productive research nodal network of resources and extant collaborations among leading aging researchers from Boston area academic medical centers to foster translational research in function promoting therapies (FPTs) and reduce the burden of disabling functional limitations in older adults. The LAC is responsible for implementing, sustaining, evaluating, and reporting OAIC's progress towards its goals and enabling integration of OAIC activities. It coordinates activities of investigators, resource cores, conferences, and career development activities, oversees review of applications, evaluates operations of cores, and maintains accountability. The LAC also facilitates commercialization of discoveries and innovations, establishes collaborations, disseminates information, and maintains community outreach relevant to OAIC projects and research areas.
